Weekly Cleaning Schedule

July 11, 2016 By Dani Wagner 4 Comments

I am so excited to finally share this with all of you, my weekly cleaning schedule. This has been on my list of things to write about since I started this blog months ago, but I am just now getting around to actually posting it. Today, I wanted to share my Weekly Cleaning Schedule and in printable form too if you want to keep it handy.

I started following this schedule when I was still working full-time. Spending my entire weekend cleaning, doing laundry, and just catching up had to end. I wanted to be able to spend my weekend with my girls, as I am sure many of you can relate.

So I did what anyone would do these days and I took to Pinterest. There are so many different kinds of cleaning schedules, but you have to do what works best for you and your family. After my research, I took bits and pieces of other schedules and made one that would work for me and my family’s schedule.

Weekly Cleaning Schedule, printable,

Weekly Cleaning Schedule:

Daily:

-Sweep the floors

-One load of laundry (put it in the wash in the am, in the dryer when I get a chance, and fold before bed)

-Wipe down counters (kitchen and bathrooms)

-Tidy up all rooms

-Vacuum (depending on the kids and the dog this is sometimes a daily chore)

Monday:

-Bathrooms (floors, shower/tub, sinks, counters, mirrors, rugs, toilets)

Tuesday:

-Bedsheets (wash all sheets and remake all beds)

Wednesday:

-Dust (whole house)

-Scrub Kitchen Sink and Counters

Housework, the main cause of insanity for women…but it doesn’t have to be. Click to Tweet

Thursday:

-Vacuum (whole house)

-Mop Floors

Friday/Saturday:

Big household projects and/or Swing Projects (things that don’t have to be done weekly but still need to be done)

-Clean Microwave

-Wipe down cabinets (inside and out)

-Wipe baseboards

-Clean windows

Weekly Cleaning Schedule.

As you can see whenbroke down into smaller pieces, cleaning is much more manageable and really doesn’t take that long. I love the fact that by Saturday my whole house is clean and we can spend our weekends as a family.

I would love to hear what cleaning strategies have worked for you. Do you find that getting it all done in a few hours is easier than doing little by little?

Thanks for stopping by.

I agree, Dani. Breaking down the task of cleaning an entire house into more manageable components is a great strategy! Also, this way if you have to skip a day (and I know that sometimes that’s unavoidable) you will just spend a little more time taking care of those tasks the following week.

Diane, that is so true. Monday’s and Friday’s are difficult for me due to our schedule but I love that I can also squeeze these chores in throughout the rest of the week as needed.

This seems like a reasonable list. Every time I try to break it up and do a little all week, stuff seems to get in the way, and weekend rolls around, yikes! I have to do all the chores. UGH. Housework is the bane of my existence.

It’s definitely hard and I totally agree I hate when it all snowballs to the weekend! Haha this is just my way to NOT let housework beat me!!!!
