Once the weather turns warm and the sun begins to shine, do you struggle to include reading and picture books into your daily routines? You wake up to a gorgeous day and immediately head outside to soak up some vitamin C, ride bikes, explore nature, or just have a picnic! Only to later realize that you didn’t stop to do any reading at all.
With this new series, I hope to solve that slight problem for you once and for all.
We love to play outside and will find a new trail to explore and be gone for most of the day! I’ve learned ways to incorporate learning (incorporating letters and numbers into your nature walk) into those walks and love the colors, textures, letters, numbers, and words we can play with while walking. Now I want to dive into all the ways that reading and picture books can add to your nature walks as well.
Pairing Books with the Great Outdoors
Each week in the month of May, (maybe beyond) I will share with you a fabulous picture book and then some activities you can do outside after you have read that book!
This series will hopefully expand your library to include some amazing books about nature as well as give you just a few more fun activities you can try while exploring.
Here are just a few of the books I will be sharing:
Raindrops Roll by April Sayre
Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert
The Dandelion Seed by Joseph Anthony
Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt by Kate Messner
Check back next week for the first post in this new series, Pairing Books with the Great Outdoors!
