Today, I wanted to share with you a playlist of Zoo themed videos called “Fun at the Zoo in Preschool”. This playlist will enhance any animal, zoo, or safari themed unit you may be teaching with your preschoolers. The videos and songs in this playlist are sure to have your kids moving, learning, dancing, and singing along.
The past two weeks we have been reading Good Night, Gorilla and learning all about zoo animals. Reading, handwriting, math skills, STEAM, and crafts are all a huge part of our preschool day, however, I also like to incorporate educational videos and theme related songs as well.
This playlist includes an educational video about Gorillas, songs about zoo animals and going to the zoo, phonics and counting songs that are zoo themed, and a reading of the book Good Night, Gorilla by Peggy Rathmann.
The educational video included in this playlist is a short 8 minute clip of Ed and Eppa all about Gorillas in their natural environment. Your kids will learn about the eating habits of gorillas, why their arms are longer than their legs, and so much more.
The songs in this playlist are all geared towards teaching your child about the zoo and animals at the zoo. They will learn how different animals move and the sounds they make. Your little ones will not be able to sit down as they learn how kangaroos hop, hop, hop. Or as they learn to “swim like a polar bear, swim, swim, swim”.

- At the Zoo by KidTV123
- Zoo Zoo Who’s at the Zoo by The Kiboomers

My preschoolers hopping like a kangaroo.
Your little ones can also practice counting to ten and learning their alphabet with zoo animals in these songs:
- Learn to Count with Number Zoo by Toddler Fun Learning
- The Phonics Zoo by Pinkfong Songs
Finally, your kids can watch a video of the book Good Night, Gorilla. In this video, your little ones will be able to watch the book come alive as their favorite Gorilla sneakily helps all the animals escape from the zoo.
If you are looking for a way to add singing, dancing, and movement into your zoo unit, this playlist is for you. These songs are a great addition to any preschool unit. You can also just use what you like and skip what you don’t. I promise your kids will be begging to sing and dance some more!
What are your favorite zoo or animal themed songs for preschool?
